An Introduction to Practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit

This program focuses on the procedural aspects of the appellate process in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Being an appellant or an appellee in the Second Circuit can be a challenging prospect, even for those accustomed to practicing in the New York State appellate courts. Attendees will learn the methods for initiating and filing appeals in the Second Circuit including an overview of the rules, an explanation of the many required forms, timing considerations, requirements for briefs and appendices, motions, oral arguments and costs. The program concludes with a question and answer session.

"An Introduction to Practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit" is accredited directly by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board. The program is appropriate for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys.
